Trulene

Monofilament Polypropylene Sterile Non-Absorbable Surgical Suture

Features of Trulene

  • Low tissue reactivity
  • High tensile strength
  • High plasticity allows better accommodation of wound healing
  • Easy to remove – ideal for a running, subcuticular closure
  • Does not adhere to tissues and can be used as an intradermal suture

This suture is indicated for skin closure, and in surgical procedures where a combination of a non-absorbable suture and long term wound support is required for soft tissue approximation and/or ligation. It elicits a minimal initial inflammatory reaction in tissues which is followed by gradual encapsulation of the suture by fibrous connective tissue. It is neither absorbed, nor it is subjected to degradation or weakening by the action of tissue enzymes.
